May 05, 2005:
We are quickly coming up on our Homecoming week-end. Many people have
been planning this for close to 2 years and now that the time is
approaching we need some help in certain areas. One is Youth dance in
which we need chaperone's for the dance on the Friday night from
6:30-10pm, even if you can spare just an hour or two that would help us
out, contact Mike Rosenberger at
mike.rosenberger@hotmail.com. We also need help with door people and
people to decorate for the Adult Dance at Bingemans on the Saturday
night, we have one hour shifts for the door, please contact me at
bergey@rogers.com if you can help. We are also looking for people to
help with the Summerfest portion of the week-end, this is family
activities at the ball park from 11:30am-2pm, if you can spare some time
and help out contact me at
bergey@rogers.com
The adult dance tickets are available anytime at the Homesteader and
Herbs. We also have them at the Homecoming office on Saturday May 7, 14
and 28th at the Breslau Mennonite Church fro 9am-12noon. Tickets are
$10.00 in advance for the adult dance. We also have youth dance tickets
for $7.00 and dinner tickets for the Saturday supper at the Homecoming
office only - don't miss out. Speaking of the Saturday Supper at the
Sava Club, don't listen to rumours, we have plenty of tickets for all 3
seating's as of May 3 and be assured that ticket sales for this will end
June 1st, so get them now..No tickets will be available after then for
the Saturday Supper!
Please remember to check out all the information for the week-end on the
web-site and check back for updates and exciting news. Please check into
the Registration booth on the Homecoming week-end to pick up your free
brochure and sign our guest book, We have lots of great stuff for sale
as well at the Registration booth.
Please help us spread the word about the Homecoming, tell your friends,
family and neighbours, everyone is welcome and invited.
I would like to thank the many volunteers who have helped so far, I
would like to thanks those who have gone the extra mile and have shown
true community spirit. I know that without some of you, there would not
be a Breslau Homecoming and for that everyone should be grateful!
Please remember on the Homecoming week-end, we are all volunteers and
have tried our best to plan an exciting and fun filled week-end!
I look forward to seeing you all on June 10-12, 2005!

2004: Hello Friends! It is my pleasure to welcome you to the Breslau Homecoming 2005 web-site. On this site you will find information on all the events that are being planned for the Homecoming on June 10-12, 2005 in Breslau. We have some very dedicated and eager Team Leaders that are planning these events and we are looking for team members for all the committee's. This Homecoming takes many months of planning and we need you to join our team now. Please look over the events and choose an area that you would like to help with. If you have any questions about any event, please give me a call, our goal is to spread the work out as our motto says "Many hands make light work". As an Executive team we are meeting every two months with group meeting in between, our hope is not to overload anyone but still plan a very well oiled, efficient and fun event. Some events still require a team leader, call me for details. Do you have addresses, e-mails or phone numbers of past residents of Breslau? Please let us know, everyone should pre-register on line so we can send out information to you. The Breslau Homecoming 2005 is meant to bring together Family, friends, school, church and business as one community in celebration of Breslau! Many of us live or have lived in Breslau, attended school, church, scouting, guiding, played baseball, horseshoes. worked here, made friends here and have family here! Well, you are all part of our great heritage of a small town in Ontario called Breslau, I for one am very proud of this town and want to get together with old friends, make new ones and share our community with everyone! Please help us spread the word about our Homecoming and help us plan this in "celebration of Breslau"! Visit our Homecoming office for ticket sales, decorations, information or just stop in to chat! The office will be open on Saturday's starting in November from 9am-1pm at the Breslau Mennonite Church. The Homecoming is being planned with the help of the Breslau Recreation Association, South Woolwich Optimist Club, Breslau Evangelical Missionary Church, Breslau Mennonite Church, Breslau School, friends of Breslau and local businesses. I would like to thank everyone for all their hard work so far and I know that many people will step forward to ease the workload and come together as this great community has in 1984 and 1995 for the past Homecomings. Remember to support our teams and offer a word of encouragement to our executive, team leaders and members, a kind word does wonders, a hand does miracles! Most of all please join us for the Breslau Homecoming 2005 on June 10-12, watch this site for updates on all events and for flyers and information in the mail. with Community Spirit, Keith Bergey - Chair
